Lloyd Aviation in Australia bought their first and only F28 Fellowship in April 1985. Fokker had MSN 11212 available as Air Zimbabwe had not taken it up and delivery to Lloyd was a matter of few weeks. VH-LAR arrived at Brisbane on 23 June 1985 and entered service four days later. Lloyd had acquired it specifically for the contract with Santos Ltd for flights to Moomba and Jackson oil and gas fields. When this contract was cancelled, the Fellowship became redundant and it performed only some ad-hoc charters for Ansett NT and Airlines of Western Australia.
