General news

Fokker Next Gen may convert a B777 into a temporary flying testbed for multiple future technologies as part of a consortium linked to the EU’s Clean Aviation program. The plan to convert an F100 for hydrogen engine testing was dropped, as reported last month.

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines has chosen the successor for their Fokker 100 fleet. The airline ordered eight Embraer E190-E2 jets, commencing delivery in October 2025. Like the F100s, the new aircraft will be based in Perth and operate the mining charter business of Virgin in Western Australia.

11027 1000 5V-TPO Air Dabia. The F28 was reported stored at the dump of Lomé airport, Togo, on 5 June 2024, which is remarkable as other sources reported it as scrapped in Bamako in 2004.
11236 4000 ZS-JES AirQuarius. The remains of this Fellowship are still at the dump of Lanseria, fully white and missing many parts.
11334 100 VH-FNC Alliance Airlines is the registered owner and operator since 19 July 2024. The aircraft is still in Perth, undergoing some work, before repaint.
11400 100 F-ZASN F-WTBY Centre d'Essais en Vol. One of the two testbeds of the French Air Force will soon be re-registered.
11505 100 VH-NQZ Network Aviation. Deleted from the Australian register 29 July 2024. Despite that the F100 was painted in full Qantas Link colors in 2021, it never entered service and was only used for spare parts.
11528 70 5Y-IFB I-Fly Air. The lease to Air Djibouti ended (when?) and the aircraft is now operating the Nairobi-Jomo Kenyatta to Wajir service. It is painted white with pink engine cowlings and carries no titles.
11539 70 OB-2156-P WayraPerú. The two retired F70s were noted at Lima airport on 15 July 2024. Both look quite dirty and we wonder if they will ever fly again.
11540 70 OB-2153-P WayraPerú. The two retired F70s were noted at Lima airport on 15 July 2024. Both look quite dirty and we wonder if they will ever fly again.
11545 70 VH-JFE Alliance Airlines. After some years of storage at Adelaide, this F70 was recently refurbished, ferried to Perth on 6 August 2024 as QQ9821 and re-entered service on 09-08-2024 from Perth to Leinster as QQ6500.
11547 70VIP 2-OKBX VH-KBX Airline Fleet Support. This Dutch company had the F70 re-registered in Guernsey, as they have done before with other Fokkers. Registration date 31 July 2024. The new registration is not (yet) applied on the aircraft.

For over 12 years F28 ZS-JES (11236) sits in the dump area of Lanseria airport. The last known operator was AirQuarius; the aircraft has no titles or colors. The long-distance shot lacks some sharpness. (Snitch; Lanseria, 1 August 2024)

Congolese airline Air Kasaï is the new operator of F50 SU-YAH (20123). We do not know who is the current owner and neither if it will receive a 9S-registration later on. (Nino Parasmo; Kinshasa, 22 July 2024)

Apart from the unmarked fuselage of Aero Mongolia JU-8257 (see picture in Fokkernews 79), Buyant Uhaa airport has another derelict Fokker 50 on the premises, namely Hunnu Air F50 JU-8881 (20183) in almost full colors, but without registration (Yura; Ulaanbaatar, 16 May 2024)
