Fokkernews May 2020 (issue 30)
General news
Peruvian F50 operator ATSA is reportedly planning to resume domestic scheduled services in 2020 under a public-private partnership.
TUS Airways suspended all operations on 23 March 2020, following government travel restrictions due to COVID-19. The company plans to resume flights once the travel restrictions in Cyprus are lifted. It remains to be seen if the current situation will affect the plans to relaunch as ELA Airways.
Braathens Regional Airlines, better known as BRA, ceased all operations on 6 April 2020. At that time, three F50 were in service on lease from Amapola Flyg. The airline is working on a plan to restart and time will show if the leased Fokkers will be retained in the fleet.

10578 | 400M | FAB-90 | Bolivian Air Force. Seen in service April 2020 in Cordoba, Argentina. The last active Bolivian Troopship is apparently re-activated for military operations. |

11330 | 100 | EP-LCR | Kish Air. Seen 1 May 2020 at Mashhad in the new livery.
11359 | 100 | VH-UQP | OE-IMX | Alliance Aviation Slovakia s.r.o. Registered 20 Aril 2020, thus not restored to its previous Austrian registration as we had supposed. The aircraft is stored since November 2017 in Bratislava in basic Austrian colors. |
11427 | 100 | 5B-DDE | 2-BDDE | TUS Airways. Although the new registration was applied to the aircraft 21 April 2020, it is not in the May update of the official Guernsey register. Remains to be confirmed. |
11536 | 70 | 5B-DDA | 2-BDDA | TUS Airways. The new registration was applied to the aircraft 21 April 2020, but is not officially in the Guernsey register. To be confirmed. |
11560 | 70 | VH-NUY | Alliance Airlines. Made a testflight at Bratislava on 12 May 2020. Likely a problem was found that prevented its planned ferry flight to Australia.
11563 | 70 | P2-ANZ | OE-ILQ | Alliance Aviation Slovakia s.r.o., registered in Austria 15 April 2020. Alliance bought two F70 from Air Niugini, assumedly for spare parts. The P2-registration was probably never on the aircraft, which is stored at Singapore-Seletar since 29 May 2017. |
11567 | 70 | P2-ANA | OE-ILR | Alliance Aviation Slovakia s.r.o., registered in Austria 15 April 2020. Never operated for Air Niugini since its arrival in Singapore-Seletar since 8 October 2017. |
This Pakistan International Airlines F27-200 is now 55 years old. After eight years in Italy, it was sold to Pakistan and remained in service until 2000. AP-AXB (10288) is preserved in the Liaquat Family park in Quetta, Pakistan since and still looks in reasonable condition (Faisal Faves on Google; Quetta, August 2019)
It is not too often that we can show you a picture of a new F50. Well, here is one, but not really new. Anyway it is the first picture of Amapola Flyg F50 SE-MFZ (20159), still without colors (Anders “Bromma” Nilsson; Stockholm-Arlanda, 18 May 2020)
After Bek Air took over UP-F1018 (11317) from Air Panama, it flew for some months in the previous operator’s colors, without any titles. In October it was seen repainted in the new livery, but the airline has not enjoyed it for long, due to the grounding imposed by the Kazakh CAA. Therefore this is a rare picture (Dmitry Osipov; Almaty, 10 October 2019)
Further to the two ex-TUS Airways Fokkers shown in the previous edition, the transfer to the Guernsey register apparently stumbled into paperwork issues. Both the F100 (2-BDDE, 11427) and the F70 (2-BDDA, 11536) were noted with a provisional label that should temporarily restore their 5B-registrations, but these registrations do not look completely normal (Hendrik Cazemier; Groningen, 6 May 2020)
In 2019 Alliance Airlines bought four F100 from Helvetic and transferred them to Brisbane. Two of these were recently ferried to Alice Springs for continued storage. Still in the livery of its previous operator, VH-VKN (11459) is seen shortly before the ferry flight (Tourismman at Flickr; Brisbane, 7 April 2020)
