Iranian airline Mahan Air is believed to soon add turboprops to their fleet for domestic operations. Apparently the F50 has been chosen, and we can only speculate where these should come from.

20105 50 SE-MFP Amapola Flyg. Ferried from Malmö to Dublin for serving the route to Donegal, replacing 20109 (see below)
20109 50 SE-MFY Amapola Flyg. After flying the twice daily route between Dublin and Donegal since 26 June 2021, the F50 returned to Malmö for maintenance. The route was taken over by SE-MFP (20105).
20111 50 5Y-MIS Silverstone Air Services. Stored in the junk corner of Nairobi-Wilson 12 November 2021, still with Maandeeq titles. This aircraft was on the auction list (see Fokkernews 47).
20114 50 5Y-CHK Operator unknown. Aircraft noted 5 December 2021 at Mogadishu airport with colored, unknown logo on fuselage and tail.
20120 50 5Y-RNG Unknown operator, might be Silverstone Air Services. Seen at Juba 10 December 2021 on a cargo flight, apparently no longer in operation by CityLink Africa, nor by Renerage Air. All titles, stickers and national flags are removed and only the Renegade Air tail logo remains.
20124 50E 5Y-JJJ Jetways. Seen at Nairobi-Wilson 6 December 2021, all white. The operator still needs to be confirmed.
20145 50 5Y-MMA Salaam Air Express. Noted 5 December 2021 at Mogadishu airport in full colors.
20151 50 SE-LIR 5Y-IFL I-Fly Air. Seen in service at Nairobi-Wilson 12 November 2021, all white. So the Kenyan registration is now known.
20150 50 SE-MFZ Amapola Flyg. On 25 November 2021 the crew of flight HP322 from Helsinki to Joensuu declared emergency when climbing out of Helsinki airport. The right hand engine had to be shut off due to a failure. The crew immediately returned to Helsinki for a safe landing approximately 15 minutes after departure.
20180 50E 5Y-IZZ Silverstone Air Services. Noted at Nairobi-Wilson 12 November 2021 in service, all white.
20191 50F 5Y-JWG Jetways. Seen at Nairobi-Wilson 17 November 2021. Compared to previous pictures, the front part of the Miniliner livery is now overpainted all white.
20231 50 5H-TGF Tanzania Government. Made a post-maintenance testflight 20 December 2021 from Woensdrecht as Tanz03, back in Tanzanian Government livery.
20233 50 5Y-JXK Skyward International. Noted in service at Nairobi-Wilson 15 November 2021, returned from lease to Premier Airlines.
20249 50 5Y-FAS Freedom Airline. Noted in service 9 November 2021 at Nairobi-Wilson in new livery.
20260 50 5Y-JRN Skyward Express. Noted in the junk corner of Nairobi-Wilson 12 November 2021. Also this aircraft was on the auction list (see Fokkernews 47).
20333 50 5Y-CGX Safe Air Company. Noted stored without engines at Nairobi-Wilson 12 November 2021.
20335 50 C5-MAM Mid Africa Aviation. This F50 was announced to be available for immediate sale by Airsteam International on 17 December 2021. The aircraft is believed to be still stored in Indonesia, since 2017, as it probably never entered service with Tarco Air.

Fokker F28, Fokker 70 & Fokker 100

11162 3000C FAC 1041 Colombia Air Force. Flew from its home base Eldorado to Woensdrecht for major maintenance. It started 29 November in Bogota and via intermediate stops at Manaus, Fortaleza, Praia, Las Palmas and Bordeaux arrived at Woensdrecht 1 December 2021.
11333 100 VH-FZI Virgin Australia. Made last revenue flight on 1 December 2021 from the Barimunya mine airstrip to Perth as VA9488. On 3 and 4 December 2021 it flew as VA9945 from Perth via Port Hedland to Seletar, where it will be broken up.
11482 100 VH-NHV Network, flying as Qantas Link. On 22 November 2021 flight QF1616 from Perth to Paraburdoo had already gone around three times and then performed an instrument approach below the visual minimums. It landed safely. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has started an investigation.
11559 70 TL-AET Salaam Air Express. Seen arriving at Mogadishu airport 5 December 2021 in full c/s. The cabin is configured for 2 classes with 73 seats (8 business and 65 economy)
11581 70 5Y-JWF Jetways. Seen at Nairobi-Jomo Kenyatta 9 November 2021, all white with few traces in KLM blue.
11585 70 PJ-JAB Jetair Caribbean. Completed major maintenance at Woensdrecht with three testflights 22 and 24 November 2021. On 25 November it started its 5-day trip back home after a nightstop at Rotterdam, via Prestwick, Keflavik, Kangerlussuaq, Goose Bay, Sydney, Norfolk and Freeport to Curaçao. The flight numbers ranged from JRC03 to JRC09.

The world’s oldest Friendship that is still in service is 59-0259, the VIP F27 of the Philippine Air Force (10115), which was delivered in September 1959 and celebrated its 62nd birthday this year. Still going strong after 53 years is 5Y-GMC (10369), now flying cargo for Astral Aviation, unlike the rest of the fleet without any titles. (Ralph’s Aviation Photography; Nairobi-Jomo Kenyatta, 9 November 2021)

 

The start-up airline I-Fly Air is using this F50 that is believed to be operated by Silverstone Air Services, with the suitable registration 5Y-IFL (20151). It is former SE-LIR and is all white. (Ralph’s Aviation Photography; Nairobi-Wilson, 12 November 2021)

 

Freighter F50 5Y-JWG (20191) operated by Jetways obviously lost part of its attractive Miniliner colors, the clock on the forward fuselage is now gone. (Ralph’s Aviation Photography; Nairobi-Wilson, 17 November 2021)

 

The operator of F50 Freighter 5Y-JWB (20197) has changed from Jetways, who flew it still in the ex-Miniliner livery, to Renegade Air. It is now white and the large cargo door in green with ‘Fokker 50 Cargo’ titles. When it changed is unknown, but the oldest picture in the new livery of from March 2021. Following up on Fokkernews 39 we can now show a picture of Renegade Air 5Y-SMQ (20202) in actual service. The engine cowlings were repainted since. (André Alders; Mogadishu, 10 December 2021)

 

Somalian startup Star Airline has leased 5Y-WFD (20214) for domestic services out of Mogadishu across the country. Not visible on this picture is the Star Airline tail logo. (Axmed Yacko on Facebook; Garowe, 20 August 2021)

 

Apparently back in the Skyward fleet is 5Y-JXK (20233). The aircraft lost its Premier Airlines titles but retained the tail logo. (Ralph’s Aviation Photography; Nairobi-Wilson, 15 November 2021)

Another oldie that is still active is Colombian Air Force F28 FAC 1041 (11162), which flew all the way from Bogota to the Netherlands for some maintenance. (Ralph Hamaker; Woensdrecht 1 December 2021)

 

Departing Perth for the first leg of its last commercial service is Virgin Australia VH-FZI (11333). After returning the aircraft was withdrawn from use and transferred to Singapore-Seletar for parting out. (Tony James; Perth, 30 November 2021)

 

Somalian airline Salaam Air Express has added one F70 to the fleet, former ZS-SKA that was recently registered as TL-AET (11559). The aircraft arrived in Somalia in early December and is used for domestic and regional flights. (Salaam Air Express on Facebook; Garowe, 11 December 2021)

 

Jetways’ single F70 5Y-JWF (11581) is being prepared for the next flight, again devoid of titles but with patches of KLM blue still visible. (Ralph’s Aviation Photography; Nairobi-Jomo Kenyatta, 3 November 2021)

 

After completing heavy maintenance at Fokker Services in Woensdrecht, Jetair Caribbean PJ-JAB (11585) made a nightstop in Rotterdam before returning to its home base Curaçao. (Henk Wadman; Rotterdam, 24 November 2021)
