Picture of the month *
Quite a rare sight is this F28 Fellowship in cocoon. The text ‘A-203’ on the nose identifies the aircraft as c/n 11203. It had served for nine years with Korean Air as HL7265 and Fokker had taken it back as a partial payment when Korean Air ordered 12 new F100s in 1992. As Fokker was unable to sell it on short notice to another operator, the aircraft was packed in cocoon for protecting it against weather influences. The date of cocooning is indicated on the packing material with the Dutch text ‘Datum kokoneren’ as 7 July 1994. At the time of the photograph the aircraft was painted all white and registered as PH-RRC. After five years’ storage it was sold to the Argentinian Government to become T-03 in 1998. It is still current with the Argentine Air Force as T-51. (unknown photographer, slide scan from author’s collection; Woensdrecht February 1998)
